In 2022, under the guidance of the China Association for Vaccines and the support of various parties, the Council for the Promotion of International Vaccine Cooperation has made active preparations, and clarified the vision, positioning and core business scope of the council; improved the working regulations, responsibilities, and other management measures; formulated a proposal on the organizational structure of the council, and will hold its inaugural meeting in January 2023.
During the preparation period, CPIVC has:
- Successfully organized the “Preparatory Meeting and Workshop on Global Market Forecast of COVID-19 Vaccine” and the “Technical Webinar on Partnering with CEPI in Developing Novel RNA Vaccine Platform Technologies “.
- Communicated with the National Vaccine Institute (NVI) of Thailand and recommended representatives of the council to present Chinese vaccine innovations at the ASEAN Vaccine Network Consultation Meeting in Bangkok.
- Conducted research and analysis on international cooperation needs; set up and launched the “Vaccine Navigation – Research Project on WHO Prequalification for Chinese Vaccines”.
- Actively participated in the activities initiated by the China Association for Vaccines for the “Regulations for the Implementation of the Drug Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China (draft for comments)” and the “Technical Guidelines for Clinical Trials of Human Papilloma Virus Vaccines (draft for comments)”.
The Council’s WeChat public website was officially renamed and rebranded on July 8, 2022, and will publish weekly news about the China Association for Vaccines, information on international vaccine cooperation, scientific prevention and control, and interpretation of the COVID-19 epidemic; the council’s official website is being designed and prepared and is expected to be officially launched in January next year.
